Professor Min Jung Park's research lab specializes in advanced materials science and biomedical imaging, with a focus on the functionalization of carbon nanomaterials for biomedical and catalytic applications. The lab also investigates neurodegenerative disease biomarkers, particularly α-synuclein oligomers in Parkinson’s disease, and explores innovative magnetic resonance imaging techniques for early detection of liver and colorectal cancers. Additionally, the lab examines neuroprotective mechanisms of sodium butyrate in stroke models, emphasizing its dual role in reducing brain injury and enhancing growth factor expression. A Gram-negative bacterium, designated strain EMB117T, was isolated from a municipal wastewater treatment plant and characterized by polyphasic taxonomy.
