Professor Min Kyu Jung's research lab focuses on advancing personalized cancer therapy, particularly in gastric and pancreatic cancers, with a strong emphasis on immunotherapy, tumor microenvironment modulation, and precision endoscopic interventions. The lab investigates the role of immune checkpoints, such as PD-1 and CTLA-4, in modulating treatment outcomes, while exploring novel cellular therapies like ICAM-1-targeted CAR T cells. It also examines the impact of gut microbiome alterations—particularly from prior antibiotic use—on immunotherapy efficacy, and contributes to improving diagnostic accuracy through advanced endoscopic techniques like pancreatoscopy and endoscopic resection of early neoplasia.

Evidence on whether prior antibiotic (pATB) administration modulates outcomes of programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) inhibitors in advanced gastric cancer (AGC) is scarce. The prognostic and predictive value of pre-treatment serum levels of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and cytokeratin-19 fragments (CYFRA 21-1) were assessed in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients treated with gefitinib or erlotinib.
