This study reveals that obesity is associated with metabolic alterations and urinary stone recurrence. Weight control may be considered one of the preventive modalities against recurrent stone formation, especially in first time stone formers.

Diabetes mellitus may not be directly associated with disease-specific outcome in patients who receive surgical management for localized renal cell carcinoma. However, since diabetes mellitus was observed to be associated with overall survival in such patients, diabetic patients undergoing surgery for localized renal cell carcinoma should be counseled on the potential impact of diabetes mellitus. Younger age (18-29 years) at first stone presentation was a significant risk factor for stone recurrence, and urinary citrate excretion was an independent risk factor affecting recurrence in this group. Metabolic evaluation and potassium citrate therapy should be considered for young adult stone patients to prevent recurrence.

In this study, a smart glasses measurement system was developed to provide real-time speed and trajectory information of the stone in curling. 이 글의 목적은 성균관대학교 학부대학 의사소통영역의 <스피치와 토론> 교과목 사례를 중심으로 대학 교양교육과정으로 개설되는 공적 말하기, 스피치와 토론 교육의 목표와 지향점을 논의하는 것이다. 첫째, 한국 대학 교양교육과정에서 의사소통교육으로서 공적 말하기, 스피치와 토론 교과목의 편성과 전개 과정을 검토한다. 둘째, 정치·사회 환경의 변화에 따라 소통하는 민주 시민성을 배양하기 위한 공적 말하기, 스피치와 토론 교육의 목적과 지향점이 어떻게 전개되고 변천하였는가를 탐색한다. 셋째, 성균관대학교의 <스피치와 토론> 교과목의 목표와 지향점인 1) 민주공동체의 시민성 함양, 2) 비판적 사고와 합리적 사고의 배양, 3) 의사소통 능력 증진 등을 논의한다. 넷째, <스피치와 토론> 교과목의 교수-학습안을 검토하며 교과목 운영의 장·단점과 교양교육과정으로서 그 유익성과 한계점을 탐구한다.

이 연구에서는 제18대 대통령 선거방송 토론에서 중앙선거방송토론위원회가 토론회 개최 준비, 진행, 관리 등의 과정에서 어떠한 역할을 수행했는지를 검토하고, 운영상 미비한 점들은 무엇이며, 개선 방안은 무엇인지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 구체적으로는 첫째, 2012년 제18대 대선토론회의 개최일시, 사회자 선정, 토론회 초청 후보자등 토론회의 배경과 상황을 소개하였다. 둘째, 2012년 12월 4일 개최한 제1차 토론회에서 드러난 문재인 후보의 ‘사랑의 열매’ 배지 부착과탈착에 관한 논란을 분석하였으며 관련 운영세칙에 대한 개선방안을 논의하였다. 셋째, 해당중계방송사의 방송제작과 운용에 관한 운영세칙을 검토하고 해당 방송사가 선거방송 토론위원회에 통보하는 절차와 이를 후보자 측에게 알리는 시점에 관한 세칙을 논의하였다. 넷째, 12월10일 개최한 제2차 토론회에서 박근혜 후보가 지참한 가방이 ‘아이패드’ 논란으로 비화된 과정을분석하였으며, 보조자료와 지참물에 관한 운영세칙의 홍보 미숙으로

이 논문은 미국 독립 전후에서 1945년 이전까지 정치·사회적 맥락의 변화에 따라 미국 대학에서 시민성을 위한 말하기 수사학교육의 목표, 지향점, 교육내용 그리고 명칭이 어떻게 변천하여 왔는가를 검토하였다. 사적연구방법으로 기존 연구 문헌을 검토하며 미국 대학교육에서 말하기 수사학교육을 통한 시민성 교육이 어떻게 전개되었는가를 살펴보기 위해 미국의 말하기 수사학교육을 크게 세 시대로 구분하여 탐구하였다. 첫째, 미국 독립 전후인 18세기 중반부터 대중교육이 획기적으로 확산되기 이전인 19세기 중반까지 영국의 수사학전통이 미국의 말하기 수사학교육으로 천착하는 과정을 살펴보며, 이러한 교육이 초기 미국식 민주주의 형성에 어떤 영향을 끼쳤는가를 논의하였다. 독립 전후 미국 대학교육에서 말하기 수사학교육의 목표와 지향점은 새로운 공화정에 적합한 시민을 양성하기 위한 공화주의 시민성 교육에 주안점을 주었다면, 독립이후 19세기 초까지 시민 개개인의 권리와 자유를 강화하는 자유주의 시민성 교육
