Professor Seung Hoon Lee's research lab focuses on sleep medicine and neuro-otology, with a strong emphasis on the diagnosis and pathophysiology of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The lab investigates the anatomical and physiological factors influencing OSA severity, including the impact of open-mouth breathing and upper airway anatomy, as well as the role of biomarkers such as coagulability in cardiovascular comorbidities. Additionally, the lab explores molecular mechanisms in glioma stem cells, particularly the EGFRvIII-PEDF-STAT3/Notch1 axis, linking oncogenic signaling to tumor progression. The lab also examines environmental noise impacts, such as wind turbine noise, on human auditory perception and annoyance. These interdisciplinary efforts integrate clinical diagnostics, molecular biology, and auditory science to advance understanding of sleep disorders and related systemic complications.

This study examined the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) scale. The GAD-7 was standardized with data from 112 patients at a psychiatric outpatient clinic. The GAD-7 revealed high internal consistency, good test-retest reliability, and convergent validity.
