Professor Seungwoo Park's research lab specializes in cardiovascular imaging and heart failure, with a focus on advanced echocardiographic and cardiac MRI techniques to assess myocardial function. The lab investigates novel biomarkers such as peak systolic longitudinal strain and tissue tracking for early detection of cardiac dysfunction in conditions like functional mitral regurgitation, aortic stenosis, and hypertensive heart disease. OBJECTIVES: The timing of aortic valve replacement (AVR) remains controversial in symptomatic patients with normal flow, low-gradient severe aortic stenosis (AS) and preserved LVEF. We sought to compare long-term mortality of early AVR versus a watchful observation strategy.
