Professor Suk Hyung Kim's research lab focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying developmental biology, ion channel function, and metabolic regulation, with a strong emphasis on zebrafish as a model organism. Key research directions include the roles of TRP channels in sensory transduction, prostaglandin signaling in gastrulation and morphogenesis, autophagy in metabolic inflammation and diabetes, and the exocyst complex in ciliogenesis and organ development. The lab integrates genetics, cell biology, and high-throughput phenotyping to dissect conserved biological pathways with implications for human disease.
