Professor Suk-Won Kim's research lab focuses on translational oncology, with a primary emphasis on breast cancer and anaplastic thyroid carcinoma. The lab investigates molecular mechanisms underlying cancer progression, including inflammation-driven metastasis, EGFR signaling, and tumor microenvironment interactions. Key research directions include identifying therapeutic targets such as IL-1β and MMPs, evaluating diagnostic and staging strategies (e.g., bone scans and hypercalcitoninemia), and developing innovative techniques for non-palpable breast lesion localization using ICG-HA. The lab integrates molecular biology, clinical oncology, and diagnostic imaging to improve patient outcomes through precision medicine approaches.
