Professor Sung-Joon Park's research lab focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying metabolic regulation, aging, and immune homeostasis. The lab investigates how small molecules like resveratrol and SRT1720 exert their metabolic and anti-aging effects through modulation of cAMP signaling, PDE inhibition, and downstream activation of Epac1, AMPK, and Sirt1 pathways. Additionally, the lab explores the role of transcriptional regulators such as Capicua (CIC) in controlling T follicular helper cell differentiation and liver-resident memory T cell development, linking these mechanisms to autoimmunity and tissue homeostasis. The research integrates molecular pharmacology, immunometabolism, and translational physiology to uncover novel therapeutic targets for metabolic diseases and immune disorders.

Resveratrol, a polyphenol in red wine, has been reported as a calorie restriction mimetic with potential antiaging and antidiabetogenic properties. A Case of Giant Osteoma Developed from the Mastoid Cortical Bone

An osteoma of the temporal bone is a rare benign tumor. External auditory canal is the most common site of osteomas arising from temporal bone, and mastoid osteoma is very rare. A case of a 42-year-old female with a huge osteoma which developed from mastoid cortical bone is presented and the review of the temporal bone osteomas is discussed.
