研究室紹介
Professor Taejin Lee's research lab focuses on developing innovative nanoscale delivery systems and molecular therapeutics for cancer and metabolic diseases. The lab specializes in RNA-based nanotechnology for targeted gene delivery, particularly in glioblastoma, and explores the role of non-coding RNAs and signaling proteins in cancer progression and metabolic dysfunction. Key research directions include designing multifunctional RNA nanoparticles for brain tumor targeting, investigating microRNAs as therapeutic agents, and elucidating the role of matricellular proteins in metabolic disorders such as hepatic steatosis and insulin resistance. The lab integrates molecular biology, nanomedicine, and translational studies to advance precision therapies.

154-(Trimethylsiloxy)-3-pentene-2-one (TMSPO) is tested as an electrolyte additive to enhance Coulombic efficiency and cycle retention for the Li/LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 (LNMO) half-cell and graphite/LNMO full-cell. TMSPO carries two functional groups, siloxane (-Si-O-) and carbon-carbon (C═C) double bonds. It is found that the siloxane group reacts with hydrogen fluoride (HF), which is generated by hydrolysis of lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF6) by impure wate
Systemic siRNA administration to target and treat glioblastoma, one of the most deadly cancers, requires robust and efficient delivery platform without immunogenicity. Here we report newly emerged multivalent naked RNA nanoparticle (RNP) based on pRNA 3-way-junction (3WJ) from bacteriophage phi29 to target glioblastoma cells with folate (FA) ligand and deliver siRNA for gene silencing. Systemically injected FA-pRNA-3WJ RNPs successfully targeted and delivered siRNA into brain tumor cells in mice
DNA replication programs have been studied extensively in yeast and animal systems, where they have been shown to correlate with gene expression and certain epigenetic modifications. Despite the conservation of core DNA replication proteins, little is known about replication programs in plants. We used flow cytometry and tiling microarrays to profile DNA replication of Arabidopsis thaliana chromosome 4 (chr4) during early, mid, and late S phase. Replication profiles for early and mid S phase wer
BACKGROUND: Globally, 5.9 million children under the age of five died in 2015. More than half and almost one-third of those deaths occurred in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, respectively. Diarrhea and Pneumonia, which were the major causes of the problem, accounted for more than two million deaths of the world's youngest children every year. Like other developing countries, child health services utilization is low in Ethiopia. The aim of this study was to identify the determinant factors for
Tumor suppressive microRNAs (miRNAs) are increasingly implicated in the development of anti-tumor therapy by reprogramming gene network that are aberrantly regulated in cancer cells. This study aimed to determine the therapeutic potential of putative tumor suppressive miRNA, miR-138, against glioblastoma (GBM). Whole transcriptome and miRNA expression profiling analyses on human GBM patient tissues identified miR-138 as one of the significantly downregulated miRNAs with an inverse correlation wi
Wnt1-inducible signaling pathway protein-1 (WISP1) is a Cyr61/CTGF/NOV (CCN) family matricellular protein involved in adipogenesis and low-grade inflammation in obesity. However, the roles of WISP1 in hepatic steatosis and insulin resistance in skeletal muscle remain elusive. Mouse primary hepatocytes and differentiated mouse skeletal muscle cells (C2C12) were treated with various concentrations of WISP1 and the functions and signaling pathways were analyzed by Western blot analysis. In vivo tra
The aim of this study was to investigate the associations between the incidence of thyroid cancer and the characteristics of healthcare systems in OECD countries and to demonstrate that the increasing incidence of thyroid cancer is mainly due to overdiagnosis. We used a random effects panel model to regress the incidence of thyroid cancer on the characteristics of healthcare systems (i.e. , share of public expenditure on health, mode of health financing, existence of referral system to secondary
Abstract Integrin β1 receptor, expressed on the surface of tumor cells and macrophages in the tumor microenvironment (TME), has been implicated in both tumor progression and resistance to multiple modalities of therapy. OS2966 is the first clinical-ready humanized monoclonal antibody to block integrin β1 and was recently orphan designated by the FDA Office of Orphan Products Development. Here, we tested therapeutic potential of OS2966-mediated integrin β1 blockade to enhance the efficacy of onco
Tris(pentafluorophenyl)silane (TPFPS) is tested as a film-forming agent for nickel-doped manganese spinel (LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4, LNMO) positive electrode. The surface film derived from the TPFPS-free electrolyte (organic carbonate-based one) is poorly passivating the high-voltage positive electrode to cause continued electrolyte oxidation and film deposition. It leads to an increase in the film resistance and thus electrode polarization eventually causing capacity fading. In contrast, the surface film
