Professor Woong Ju's research lab focuses on molecular oncology and cancer biology, with a primary emphasis on epithelial ovarian cancer and endometrial cancer. The lab investigates the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying chemoresistance, metastasis, and disease progression, utilizing gene expression profiling, functional genomics, and translational mouse models. Additional research explores the epidemiological and psychosocial dimensions of gynecological cancers, including HPV-related psychosocial impacts and the role of genetic polymorphisms in cancer susceptibility. The lab integrates molecular biology with clinical and population-based studies to identify novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

Metastasis is a major cause of therapeutic failure in ovarian cancer.
