研究室紹介

Professor Young Seok Kim's research lab focuses on child and adolescent mental health, with a primary emphasis on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) prevalence and early detection, school bullying, and its psychological consequences—including suicidal ideation and behavior. The lab conducts rigorous epidemiological and clinical studies to improve diagnostic tools, such as the Korean version of the K-SADS-PL, and investigates the bidirectional relationships between psychosocial stressors like bullying and mental health outcomes. The research also extends into the biological underpinnings of gastrointestinal immunity, particularly mucin biology and host defense mechanisms, suggesting a multidisciplinary approach linking behavioral health with physiological systems. The lab’s work consistently emphasizes the need for early intervention, comprehensive screening, and evidence-based prevention programs in school and clinical settings.

The folding of monomeric antigens and their subsequent assembly into higher ordered structures are crucial for robust and effective production of nanoparticle (NP) vaccines in a timely and reproducible manner. Despite significant advances in in silico design and structure-based assembly, most engineered NPs are refractory to soluble expression and fail to assemble as designed, presenting major challenges in the manufacturing process. The failure is due to a lack of understanding of the ki

The effect of botulinum toxin A on skin flap survival in rats

SJR Q1Wound Repair and RegenerationOA

This study examines the role of botulinum toxin type A (BoTA) in preventing the collapse of the peripheral vessels in the cutaneous flap and in increasing the survival of the flap. Because BoTA cleaves the SNAP-25 protein, the release of vasoconstriction cotransmitters as well as acetylcholine would be blocked. Dorsal skin flaps in rats were elevated and returned to the original position. In the BoTA and the control group, either BoTA or saline was injected into the entire flap. The flap surviva

Effect of Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor Against Cutaneous Scar Formation in Murine Full-thickness Wound Healing

SJR Q2Journal of Korean Medical ScienceOA

A visible cutaneous scar develops from the excess formation of immature collagen in response to an inflammatory reaction. This study examined the role of epidermal growth factor (EGF) in the formation of cutaneous scars. Twenty Crl:CD-1 (ICR) mice were used and 2 full-thickness skin wounds were made on the dorsum of each mouse. One of the wounds was treated with recombinant human EGF by local application and the other was treated with saline for control until complete healing was achieved. The E

Hyaluronic acid filler injection is widely used for soft tissue augmentation. However, there can be disastrous complications by direct vascular embolization. We present a case of ischemic oculomotor nerve palsy and skin necrosis after hyaluronic acid filler injection on glabellar.blepharoptosis, exotropia and diplopia developed suddenly after the injection, and skin necrosis gradually occurred. Symptoms and signs of oculomotor nerve palsy continuously improved with steroid therapy. Skin defects

SJR Q1Plastic & Reconstructive SurgeryOA

BACKGROUND: To avoid the somewhat operated look while effectively resolving shortcomings inherent in the conventional blepharoplasty technique, the authors propose an infrabrow excision blepharoplasty as a satisfying and useful alternative. The authors' experience during a 3-year period is presented and reviewed. METHODS: Sixty-four patients were operated on by infrabrow excision blepharoplasty. The indications for the procedure included those patients with one or more of the following criteria:

SJR Q2Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A Vacuum Surfaces and Films

Adhesion behavior of chemical vapor deposited (CVD) copper (Cu) films on various barrier substrates was studied using a pull-off test. The mean adhesion strength of Cu films on air-exposed physical vapor deposition (PVD) Ta, air-exposed CVD TiN, in situ PVD TiN, and in situ CVD TiN were determined to be 3.42, 4.74, 4.64, and 10.24 MPa, respectively. The adhesion of Cu films on the in situ PVD TiN exhibited almost the same strength as the adhesion on the air-exposed CVD TiN. Root-mean-squared (rm
