SJR Q1FWCI 13.0Osteoporosis InternationalOA

We found a ∼30% reduction in any re-fractures and a ∼40% reduction in major re-fractures at the FLS hospital compared with a similar non-FLS hospital. The number of patients needed to treat to prevent one new fracture over 3 years is 20.

SJR Q3FWCI 4.6High Pressure Research

Structural change in Bi2Te3 under high pressure up to 16.6 GPa has been studied by powder x-ray diffraction. We observed two times of phase transitions at room temperature at the pressures of 8 and 14 GPa, respectively. According to our preliminary result on electrical resistance, it is reasonable to suppose that superconducting transition with T c =2.8 K at the pressures of 10.2 GPa is observed in phase II. On the other hand, we found anomalies of the pressure dependences of lattice parameters

Remote cardiac rehabilitation is a good alternative of outpatient cardiac rehabilitation in the COVID-19 era

SJR Q1FWCI 7.8Environmental Health and Preventive MedicineOA

Remote CR is as effective as outpatient CR for improving the short-term prognosis of patients hospitalized for heart failure post-discharge. This suggests that the remote CR program can be provided as a good alternative to the outpatient CR program.

In AAA, a lower extent of calcification correlated with accelerated expansion. The calcification index of an AAA can be a useful predictor of its expansion rate. The study findings also support the theory that the mechanisms for progression in atherosclerosis with calcification and external expansion of an aneurysm are distinct.

Oxidative stress has been implicated in cardiac remodeling (cardiac fibrosis and hypertrophy), which impairs cardiac function and metabolism; therefore, it is anticipated antioxidative compounds will have protective properties against cardiac remodeling. Luteolin (3',4',5,7-tetrahydroxyflavone), a widely distributed flavonoid found in many herbal extracts including celery, green pepper, perilla leaves and seeds, and chamomile, is a known to be a potent antioxidant and was previously demonstrated

SJR Q2FWCI 1.0Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan

Abstract Activated carbon fibers (ACF) consist of microporous carbon with a huge specific surface area (SSA) ranging from 700 m2 g−1 to 3000 m2 g−1, and a having random structures consisting of an assembly of micrographites with a dimension of ca. 20 × 20 Å2. The electrical conductivity and magnetic susceptibility were investigated for ACFs with SSA = 1000 and 2000 m2 g−1 in order to clarify the relation between the electronic properties and the structure of ACF having a random network of microg

Compression of polyhedral graphite up to 43 GPa and x-ray diffraction study on elasticity and stability of the graphite phase

SJR Q1FWCI 2.3Applied Physics Letters

The crystal structure of polyhedral graphite particles (“G balls”) has been investigated under pressure up to 43 GPa and at room temperature by x-ray powder diffraction measurements. The polyhedra maintain the graphite phase under pressure higher than 40 GPa. A 29% compression in volume at 43 GPa involves an unusual decrease in the interlayer distance of 25%. The polyhedra recover their original crystal structure by releasing the pressure. A closed and solid structure of the polyhedra, suppressi

Characterization of luminous-cubic boron-nitride single-crystals doped with Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions

SJR Q1FWCI 0.4Applied Physics Letters

Incorporation of Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions into single crystals of cubic boron nitride (c-BN) has been performed by mixing these fluorides into a solvent for crystal growth of c-BN under high pressure. This method consequently brings luminous features into c-BN. The doped c-BN single crystals show no discernible structural changes in their matrices, while their elements are incorporated into the whole of crystals in atomic scale. Photoluminescence spectra of c-BN:Eu and c-BN:Tb exhibit the intra-4f ele

Effect of Treatment by Female Cardiologists on Short-Term Readmission Rates of Patients Hospitalized With Cardiovascular Diseases
Atsuko Nakayama, Hiroyuki Morita, Takayuki Fujiwara, Issei Komuro
SJR Q1FWCI 3.2Circulation JournalOA

The risk of emergency readmission after discharge in patients hospitalized with cardiovascular diseases was ameliorated when treatment was performed by female middle-grade cardiologists. The combination of male and female cardiologists in the attending doctors' team could result in better prognoses for cardiovascular patients.
