정범석 교수의 연구실은 뇌 기능과 구조적 변화를 다이나믹하게 분석하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 정신질환(우울증, 조현병, ADHD, 치매 등)과 중독(인터넷 게임장애)의 신경생물학적 기반을 밝혀내는 데 기여하고 있습니다. 특히 뇌의 기능적 및 구조적 연결성, 특히 정서 및 인지 기능과 연관된 신경망의 기전을 다이나믹한 영상 기반 분석(퍼플전스 MRI, DTI 등)과 인공지능 모델을 융합하여 연구하고 있습니다. 또한, 스마트폰 앱 기반 정서 추적 시스템을 통해 실제 생활 속 정서 상태를 실시간으로 평가하고, 이를 기반으로 조기 진단 및 개인 맞춤형 간병 전략을 모색하고 있습니다.

Our results using EmotionDiary demonstrated that the more depressed one is, the more one will read tips and facts about depression. We also confirmed depressed individuals had significantly fewer interactions with others (eg, decreased number of friends and location tagging). Our results suggest that medication-naïve ADHD subjects may have delayed maturation of the two functional connections, SN-Sensory/Motor and aDMN-pDMN/prec.
