차우우 조 교수의 연구실은 지구 자기권 내에서 발생하는 전자기 이온 사이클로트론 파동(EMIC 웨이브)의 발생 메커니즘과 그 에너지 입자와의 상호작용을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 주로 바나일리안 프로브, 아라세 위성, 지구정지위성(GOES) 등의 위성 데이터를 활용해 EMIC 웨이브의 공간적 분포, 진동수 특성, 편광 성질 등을 통계적으로 분석하며, 특히 태양풍 조건과 입자 투입 현상이 웨이브 발생에 미치는 영향을 규명하고자 합니다. 또한 지상에서의 Pc1 펄스레이션과 파장 모드의 다점 관측을 통해 고리권 내 파동의 전파 특성과 기원 메커니즘을 연구하고 있습니다.

Abstract We performed a comprehensive statistical study of electromagnetic ion cyclotron (EMIC) waves observed by the Van Allen Probes and Exploration of energization and Radiation in Geospace satellite (ERG/Arase). We investigate possible generation mechanisms of Pc1 pearl structures using multi-point induction magnetometers in Athabasca in Canada, Magadan in Russia, and Moshiri in Japan. Abstract Using the Arase and Van Allen Probes satellite observations, we investigate the nonlinear electromagnetic ion cyclotron (EMIC) rising‐tone (RT) emissions with an increase of the solar wind dynamic pressure in the dayside magnetosphere. We statistically investigated the properties of low-latitude Pi2 pulsations using Bohyun (BOH, Mlat = <TEX>$29.8^{\circ}$</TEX>, L = 1.35) ground magnetometer data in 2008. For this 1-year interval, 582 Pi2 events were identified when BOH was in the nightside from 1800 to 0600 local times. We found the following Pi2 characteristics. Abstract This study demonstrates the influence of electromagnetic ion cyclotron (EMIC) rising‐tone emissions on relativistic electrons in the inner magnetosphere using data obtained from the Van Allen Probes and Arase satellites.
