Chun Kee Chung 교수의 연구실은 뇌의 인지 기능, 특히 에피소딕 기억, 통증 조절, 간질 등 신경망 기반의 뇌 기능을 MEG(초음파 뇌자극 측정)를 활용해 연구하고 있습니다. 주로 뇌의 전기적 활동과 기능적 연결성, 특히 주파수 대역 간 상관관계와 기능적 허브를 분석하여 뇌 네트워크의 기능적 조직과 병리적 변화를 규명하고자 합니다. 특히 기억, 통증, 간질 등 다양한 뇌질환에서의 기능적 뇌 네트워크 재편성과 이를 기반으로 한 비침습적 치료 전략 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다.

Our analysis of resting-state MEG signals shows that altered electrophysiologic functional hubs in mTLE patients reflect pathophysiologic brain network reorganization. Epilepsy surgery for CD achieved 45.3% seizure-free rate with 10.9% transient postoperative complications in our institute. Worse postoperative seizure outcome was observed in cases with mild CD and frontal lobe resection.
Surgical treatment of tumor-related TLE resulted in long-term seizure control in the majority of patients. Maximal tumor removal can be recommended for tumor-related TLE.
Our study is the first to reveal the correlation between the probability of chord progression and the corresponding neuromagnetic response. The current results suggest that the physiological response is a reflection of the probabilistic representations of the musical syntax. Moreover, the results indicate that the probabilistic representation is related to the musical training as well as the sensitivity of an individual.
Total resection is the treatment of choice for patients with GISS and provides functional improvements, low permanent morbidity, and a low rate of recurrence. Total resection of the intraspinal portion and regular follow-up with consideration of the Ki-67 index is recommended when total resection is not achieved.
