The conceptual significance of understanding functional brain alterations and cognitive deficits associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD) process has been widely established. However, the whole-brain functional networks of AD and its prodromal stage, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), are not well clarified yet. In this study, we compared the characteristics of the whole-brain functional networks among cognitively normal (CN), MCI, and AD individuals by applying graph theoretical analyses to [(18)
The combination of nanotechnology with molecular imaging has great potential for the development of diagnostics and therapeutics, and multimodal imaging enables versatile applications from cell tracking in animals to clinical applications. Herein, we report a multimodal nanoparticle imaging system that is capable of concurrent fluorescence, bioluminescence, bioluminescence resonance energy transfer (BRET), positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging in vivo. A cobalt-f
Anti-LGI1 encephalitis is a subgroup of autoimmune encephalitis, characterized by memory impairments, seizures, and behavioral problems. The diagnosis can be made by clinical manifestation with a help of serum autoantibody test. There was lack of imaging studies to evaluate and monitor the disease activity by anatomical and functional information. Here, we report serial F-FDG PET/CT findings in a patient with anti-LGI1 encephalitis. Intense F-FDG uptake was initially noted in bilateral limbic sy
Predicting future brain topography can give insight into neural correlates of aging and neurodegeneration. Due to variability in the aging process, it has been challenging to precisely estimate brain topographical change according to aging. Here, we predict age-related brain metabolic change by generating future brain 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose PET. A cross-sectional PET dataset of cognitively normal subjects with different age was used to develop a generative model. The model generated P
We concluded that the sensitivity of Tc-99m ECD ictal SPECT is similar to that of Tc-99m HMPAO ictal SPECT in TLE; however, ictal hyperperfusion was higher with the Tc-99m HMPAO SPECT. In patients with NE, Tc-99m HMPAO ictal SPECT also was superior to Tc-99m ECD ictal SPECT in sensitivity and degree of hyperperfusion.
Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a complex brain development disorder characterized by hyperactivity/impulsivity and inattention. A major hypothesis of ADHD is a lag of maturation, which is supported mainly by anatomical studies evaluating cortical thickness. Here, we analyzed changes of topological characteristics of whole-brain metabolic connectivity in twelve SHR rats selected as ADHD-model rats by confirming behavior abnormalities using the marble burying test, open field t
We conclude that quantification of functional indices and assessment of wall motion or thickening using gated 99Tc(m)-sestamibi (MIBI) SPECT was reproducible and we found that their ranges of physiological fluctuation were narrow enough.
