Based on this ecological epidemiological study, racial differences in stroke incidence were robust to a variety of statistical analyses, regardless of the subtype. This suggests the need for region-specific approaches to stroke prevention.
This ecological study revealed significant racial differences in bleeding incidence, influenced by anatomical sites and lifestyle habits, underscoring the need for tailored approaches in bleeding management based on race.
More virtuous exercise trajectories in older adults with CVD are associated with lower mortality rates. Our results support public health recommendations for older adults with CVD to perform physical activity.
Background: This study aimed to investigate the associations between sex and the relative effect of rhythm control over rate control in patients with atrial fibrillation. Methods: We used the National Health Insurance Service database to select patients treated for atrial fibrillation within one year after diagnosis. The primary composite outcome comprised cardiovascular death, ischemic stroke, heart failure hospitalization, or acute myocardial infarction. Results: During th
Racial differences in the propensity to bleeding may be evident, with a higher risk of bleeding in Asian populations. This study aimed to assess racial differences in bleeding risk among patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) using an ecological epidemiological approach. We included patients with AF from the Korean National Health Insurance Service-Health Screening and UK Biobank who underwent health check-ups between 2006 and 2010. The analysis involved 1928 East Asians (62.1% male, median age 6
CBA showed a reasonable efficacy and safety profile in elderly population with AF, comparable to that in younger patients.
Abstract Background This study aimed to evaluate the differences in stroke risk and the impact of atrial fibrillation (AF) among racial groups by conducting a patient-level comparative analysis using two nationwide datasets. Methods and Results This study utilized data from the Korean National Health Insurance Service-Health Screening and UK Biobank, which included participants who underwent health examinations between 2005 and 2012. The primary outcome was a composite of ischemic and hemorrhagi
Abstract Background Although early rhythm control improves cardiovascular outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF), its use in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) remains challenging. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness and safety of rhythm control in patients with renal failure, including ESRD. Methods This population-based cohort study included 31,687 patients with AF who underwent rhythm or rate control between 2005 and 2015. Patients were categorized into thr
