Doo Ryeon Chung 교수의 연구실은 세균성 감염, 특히 항생제 내성 병원성 박테리아에 의한 호흡기 및 복강내 감염의 면역학적 기전을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 T세포, 특히 CD4+ T세포가 병변 형성(농양, 복강 점액성 유착 등)에 어떻게 관여하는지에 대한 분자 및 면역학적 메커니즘을 규명하고 있으며, 이는 치료적 타겟 발굴에 기여하고자 합니다. 병원성 박테리아의 복합 다당류가 T세포를 활성화하여 조직 손상 반응을 유도하는 메커니즘 또한 핵심 연구 주제입니다.

Acinetobacter spp., P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, and K. pneumoniae are the most frequent isolates from adults with HAP or VAP in Asian countries. These isolates are highly resistant to major antimicrobial agents, which could limit the therapeutic options in the clinical practice. Discordant initial empirical antimicrobial therapy significantly increases the likelihood of pneumonia-related mortality.
Abscess formation associated with intra-abdominal sepsis causes severe morbidity and can be fatal. The development of adhesions in the peritoneal and pelvic cavities, which commonly form after surgery or infection, cause significant morbidity and mortality. However, the pathogenesis of adhesion formation is still poorly understood. Because T cells are important in orchestrating fibrinogenic tissue disorders, we hypothesized that they play a critical role in the pathogenesis of peritoneal adhesion formation. Using a cecal abrasion surgical model in rodents, T cell depletion and adoptive transf
