We evaluated the status of bowel management in children with spina bifida (SB) and the effects on quality of life (QoL) of children and their caregivers. More than half of sexually active women with spina bifida experience sexual dysfunction. Therefore, health-care providers should pay attention to the symptoms and their management.
By providing positive information, healthcare providers can help parents to develop a more optimistic outlook on their children's future.
