이 교수의 연구실은 청소년 및 노령층을 대상으로 한 정신건강과 사회적 결정요인에 중점을 두고 있으며, 특히 학교 생활 중 정서적 어려움, 자살의향, 외상 경험과 정신건강 간의 연관성을 다룹니다. 식량 안보, 가족 지지, 신체활동, 사회적 고립 등 사회경제적 요인과 정신건강 간의 상호작용을 분석하며, 농촌 지역 노인을 대상으로 한 사회적 처방 및 통합 지역사회 간호 모델 개발에도 기여하고 있습니다. 특히 코로나19 패안이 정신건강과 의료 이용에 미친 영향에 대한 정량적 분석도 수행하고 있습니다.

Gender, missing meals due to a shortage of food, family support, physical activity and life satisfaction influenced self-rated health among adolescents in Peru. Interventions that focus on promoting physical activity for at least 1 h each day for 3 or more days per week, food security and strengthening supportive family roles may improve self-rated health during adolescence.
To conclude, the pilot social prescribing project was effective in reducing depression and loneliness for the elderly in rural areas of Korea.
