There are great expectations for artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine. We aimed to develop an AI prognostic model for surgically resected non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This study enrolled 1049 patients with pathological stage I-IIIA surgically resected NSCLC at Kyushu University. We set 17 clinicopathological factors and 30 preoperative and 22 postoperative blood test results as explanatory variables. Disease-free survival (DFS), overall survival (OS), and cancer-specific survival (CSS
ALBI grade was an independent prognostic factor in surgically resected NSCLC.
Prognoses of PST and ST adenocarcinomas differ even when their solid component sizes are the same.
We demonstrated a negative impact of postoperative decrease of the serum albumin on the prognosis of patients with early-stage NSCLC. Postoperative changes in nutritional status might be important in NSCLC outcomes.
Our current study suggests that the prognostic impact of the presence of NIAs on lung adenocarcinoma is due to differences in clinicopathological factors.
Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TC) is a syndrome characterized by transient local systolic dysfunction of the left ventricle with no evidence of coronary artery disease or acute plaque rupture. We present the case of 71-year-old woman who developed TC after two-stage surgery for double primary lung cancer. On computed tomography, lung nodules were identified in the left upper and right middle lobes. Based on the diagnosis of double primary lung cancer, we performed two-stage surgery (left upper lobec
This study was undertaken to clarify a clinically effective coping style of 13 schizophrenic patients during recovery from an acute psychotic state. Sixteen recovered depressives served as the control group. A comparison of the coping behavior profile between the two groups revealed that changes in physical activity were significantly more frequent in the schizophrenics (62%) than in the depressives (25%).
