Geun Eog Ji 교수의 연구실은 장내 미생물과 프로바이오틱스의 건강 기능, 특히 아토피성 피부염 예방 및 관리, 장내 미생물 균형 조절을 통한 만성 염증성 질환(예: 류마티스성 관절염)의 기전 규명을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 또한, 극도로 산소에 민감한 유익균인 *Faecalibacterium prausnitzii*의 생장 및 정착 메커니즘과 그 기능적 대사산물의 항염증 효과를 탐색하며, 프로바이오틱스의 안전성과 기능성 평가에도 주력하고 있습니다. 최근에는 홍삼과 레바난 같은 천연물질의 비만 및 대사질환 예방 효과에 대한 기전 연구도 확장하고 있습니다.

Bifidobacterium adolescentis Int-57 isolated from human faeces produced extracellular amylase.
