PALS was a significant prognostic marker in AHF patients. The prognostic power was similar regardless of HF phenotypes, but PALS was not associated with clinical events in AF patients.
This study was performed to assess the immediate and long-term patency of stent-associated side branches (SB) according to the types of stent. A total of 314 patients with 332 lesions (CrossFlex stent 86, NIR 100, GFX 146) had 365 SB (>1 mm) covered by coronary stents. Side branch occlusion (SBO) occurred in 7.7% of CrossFlex stent, in 10.5% of NIR stent and in 8.8% of GFX stent (P = NS). SBO primarily occurred in SB with ostial disease, and the presence of SB ostial disease was the only indepen
We developed a mortality risk prediction model for patients with AHF incorporating LV-GLS as the LV function parameter, and other clinical factors. Our model provides an accurate prediction of mortality and may provide reliable risk stratification in AHF patients.
GLS is a most powerful predictor of outcome in successfully reperfused STEMI patients, especially with depressed LV dysfunction, although GCS and LVEF lost their predictive power for the patients with significantly depressed LV function. However, GLS did not predict outcome for the patients with preserved LVEF (>50%).
Despite the marked increase of the QRS duration after pacing, M-mode, Doppler and TDI failed to demonstrate any difference according to the pacing sites. The long-term effect of the longitudinal contraction being less affected and a smaller increase of the QRS duration in the RV septal pacing group needs to be confirmed in a longitudinal follow-up study.
We evaluated the incidence, predictors, and clinical significance of side-branch occlusion (SBO) after rotational atherectomy (RA) for treatment of in-stent restenosis (ISR) and compared it with those of native coronary artery (NC). RA was performed in 64 patients with 34 ISR (42 side branches) and 30 NC (40 side branches). SBO occurred 14% after RA in ISR group compared with 0% in NC group (P < 0.05), and 33% after adjunctive balloon inflation in ISR group compared with 2.5% in NC group (P < 0.

Among patients with apparent HF and preserved EF but without diastolic dysfunction, those with impaired GLS may be considered to have HF.
In patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of death. Patients with CKD have a high burden of conventional risk factors that are closely related to accelerated atherosclerosis, left ventricular (LV) dilatation with hypertrophy, systolic dysfunction, and high LV filling pres sure. Furthermore, primary disorders of the cardiac and renal system cause deterioration in each other via direct or indirect injuries through several complex mechanisms [1].
Our study suggests that the survival benefit of statins is confined to patients with HFpEF and those with ischaemic HF. Myocardial contractility may modulate the prognostic effects of statins in HF patients, particularly when the aetiology is ischaemic rather than non-ischaemic.
Refer to the page 37-42 In general, sauna bathing (Finnish bath) has dry air and high temperature with 80℃ to 100℃ and has a relative humidity of 10% to 20%. Sauna bathing is a popular recreational activity that is generally considered to be safe. Although most people are safe and feel relax, sudden hyperthermic death can occur. Most of victims were middle-aged men, 84% were under the influence of alcohol, and 27% had cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, systemic hyperthermia is often prohibit
T1 mapping on CMR imaging, derived from AI-automated segmentation, not only allows for improved diagnosis of CA from other etiologies of LVH, but also provides significant prognostic value in patients with AL-CA.
