곽광표 교수의 연구실은 미생물군집(특히 자궁경부 및 질 미생물군)과 숙주 유전자의 상호작용이 대사증후군 및 성병리 질환에 미치는 영향을 연구합니다. 특히 인간 바이러스 감염(예:HPV)과 자용균, 노로바이러스 등 병원성 미생물의 생존 및 전파 메커니즘을 분석하며, 항바이러스 및 항진균 치료의 한계를 보완할 수 있는 유산균 기반 생물학적 치료 전략 개발에도 주력하고 있습니다. 또한, 공기 중 병원성 미생물 제거를 위한 자외선 소독 기술의 효율성 평가도 수행하고 있습니다.
