Gyuri Kim 교수의 연구실은 대사질환과 연관된 뼈와 근육의 상호작용을 중심으로, 특히 비알코올성 간지방증후군(NAFLD), 대사증후군, 심혈관계 질환 등에 영향을 미치는 근육량의 역할을 심층적으로 연구하고 있습니다. 장기적인 종단적 연구를 기반으로 근육량의 변화가 대사 건강에 미치는 영향과, 근육이 분비 기능을 하는 ‘미오카인’의 기능적 역할에 주목하고 있습니다. 또한 연령 관련 근육량 감소와 대사질환 간의 인과관계를 규명하고, 이를 바탕으로 예방 전략을 모색하고 있습니다.
