Hajime Watanabe 교수의 연구실은 호르몬(특히 에스트로겐)이 유전자 발현에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해 DNA 마이크로어레이 기반의 전사체 분석을 핵심으로 하는 분자생물학적 연구를 수행합니다. 특히 생리적 변화를 유도하는 에스트로겐 유사 화합물(예: 나이프로페놀)과 자연 에스트로겐의 유전자 발현 프로파일을 비교하여 내분비 교란 물질의 작용 기전을 규명하고자 합니다. 또한 세균-무척추동물 상호작용과 같은 생태계 수준의 생물학적 상호작용에 대해서도 연구를 확장하고 있습니다.

E4TF1 was originally identified as one of the transcription factors responsible for adenovirus E4 gene transcription. It is composed of two subunits, a DNA binding protein with a molecular mass of 60 kDa and a 53-kDa transcription-activating protein. To study gene expression in the water flea Daphnia magna we constructed a cDNA library and characterized the expressed sequence tags (ESTs) of 7210 clones. The EST sequences clustered into 2958 nonredundant groups.
