Abstract Clustering plays an important role in many large‐scale data analyses providing users with an overall understanding of their data. Nonetheless, clustering is not an easy task due to noisy features and outliers existing in the data, and thus the clustering results obtained from automatic algorithms often do not make clear sense. To remedy this problem, automatic clustering should be complemented with interactive visualization strategies. This paper proposes an interactive visual analytics
Supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) and chemical additives (CA) are incorporated to modify the properties of concrete. In this paper, SCMs such as fly ash (FA), ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), silica fume (SF), rice husk ash (RHA), sugarcane bagasse ash (SBA), and tire-derived fuel ash (TDFA) admixed concretes are reviewed. FA (25-30%), GGBS (50-55%), RHA (15-20%), and SBA (15%) are safely used to replace Portland cement. FA requires activation, while GGBS has undergone in s
Steel structures significantly degrades owing to corrosion especially in coastal and industrial areas where significant amounts of aggressive ions are present. Therefore, anodic metals such as Al and Zn are used to protect steel. In the present study, we provide insights for the corrosion mechanism and kinetics of Al-Zn pseudo alloy coating deposited on mild steel plate via an arc thermal spraying process in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution in terms of its improved corrosion resistance properties at prolo
AbstractAbstractSiCp/Al composites containing high volume fraction SiC particles were fabricated using a pressure infiltration casting process, and their thermophysical properties, such as thermal conductivity and coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), were characterised. High volume fraction SiC particulate preforms containing 50–70 vol.-%SiC particles were fabricated by ball milling and a pressing process, controlling the size of SiC particles and contents of an inorganic binder. 50–70 vol.-%
