후쿠다 히로히사 교수의 연구실은 주로 인구 기반의 장기적 건강 연구와 실생활 데이터를 활용한 의료 평가를 중심으로 활동하고 있습니다. 대규모 생애주기 데이터베이스(LIFE Study), 임상적 실용성과 비용 효과성 평가, 만성질환 및 백신 효과성에 대한 연구를 통해 일본의 공공보건 정책에 기여하고 있습니다. 특히 노령화 사회의 증가하는 의료 부담을 고려한 수술 합병증, 비만, 만성질환 관리 및 백신 정책 수립을 위한 과학적 근거를 제시하고 있습니다.

The LIFE Study provides data from over 1 million participants and can facilitate a wide variety of life-course research and cohort studies. This project is expected to be a useful platform for generating real-world evidence from Japan.
Changes in eating speed can affect changes in obesity, BMI and waist circumference. Interventions aimed at reducing eating speed may be effective in preventing obesity and lowering the associated health risks.
Even if a cost study was conducted in accordance with existing techniques of economic evaluation which mostly paid attention to internal validity of cost estimates, without adequate explanation of the process of costing, reproducibility cannot be assured and the study may lose its value as scientific information.
