The R(V), R(A) and (BG-OCC)/OCC for Parkinson's disease patients were clearly separated from those of normal controls, and they may be useful outcome measures for clinical diagnosis. The simplest (BG-OCC)/OCC ratio, requiring a single late time point, could be useful in clinical situations, whereas R(V) or R(A) is preferred when the dynamic data are available. The findings suggest that 123I-IPT is a useful tracer for diagnosing Parkinson's disease and studying dopamine reuptake sites.

Anthrax meningoencephalitis is a rare complication of infection with Bacillus anthracis and generally produces a hemorrhagic meningoencephalitis. We present the CT and MR imaging findings in two patients demonstrating subarachnoid, intracerebral, and intraventricular hemorrhage with leptomeningeal enhancement.
We have developed a three-dimensional computer simulation of SPECT imaging. We have applied the simulation procedure to the realistic mathematical Hoffman three-dimensional brain model to generate the projection data (in the absence of attenuation, scatter, or noise) of both a parallel-hole and a multidetector SPECT system with point-focusing collimators. Our data indicate that lung adenocarcinoma patients with miliary dissemination have relatively shorter survival times than those without miliary dissemination. The poor prognosis of patients with miliary dissemination may reflect a high tumor burden, as represented by metabolic tumor volume.
