Hee Jung Kim 교수의 연구실은 노화 및 만성 질환과 관련된 근육 질환, 특히 척추 질환과 연관된 근육 비율 감소 및 통증 메커니즘을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 고령 환자에서 요추 부위의 지방 침윤과 근육 질량이 통증 완화에 미치는 영향을 분석하며, 통증의 신경성 특성과 근력 간의 상관관계를 규명하고자 합니다. 또한, 암 환자와 같은 특정 환자군에서 영양 상태, 신체 활동 수준, 삶의 질 간의 상호작용을 평가하여 종합적인 건강 관리 전략을 모색하고 있습니다.

Although CYP1B1 mutations are major causes of PCG in Korea, ~70% of PCG patients have neither CYP1B1 nor MYOC mutations suggesting a high degree of genetic heterogeneity. Furthermore, the fact that 11 out of 22 patients had only one mutant allele in the CYP1B1 gene necessitates further investigation for other genetic backgrounds underlying PCG.

High fat infiltration of the paraspinal muscles at the mid-lumbar region appeared to be an independent factor associated with poor analgesia after epidural steroid injection in elderly patients with symptomatic degenerative lumbar spinal disease receiving conservative care.
