히드로젠 신호전달 경로(Hedgehog signaling)의 기능과 암 발생 및 진행에 미치는 영향을 중심으로 연구하고 있습니다. 특히 췌장암, 간석암, 폐암 등에서 Hh 경로의 재활성화와 저산소 상태가 암세포의 침습성과 생존에 어떻게 기여하는지 규명하고 있으며, 이와 관련된 표적 치료 전략 개발에 주력하고 있습니다. 연구실은 Hh 경로의 핵심 단백질(Smo, Gli1 등)을 타겟으로 한 약물 개발과 임상 적용 가능성을 탐색하고 있습니다.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest types of cancer. Previously, we showed that hypoxia increases invasiveness through upregulation of Smoothened (Smo) transcription in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) cells. Here, we first evaluated whether hypoxia-induced increase in Smo contributes to the proliferation of PDAC cells.
