Hiroki Kurita 교수의 연구실은 뇌신경외과 및 뇌혈관 질환의 정밀 치료를 핵심으로 하며, 특히 감마刀 레이저 방사선수술을 통한 뇌동맥류성 malformation(예: 뇌간 AVM, 뇌동맥류), 난치성 간질의 치료 및 뇌조직의 방사선 손상 메커니즘을 연구하고 있습니다. 또한, 방사선 후 뇌조직의 조기 세포 사멸 및 조직학적 변화를 분석함으로써 안전성과 효과를 높이기 위한 기초 연구도 수행하고 있습니다. 최근에는 나노소재의 생체적용과 금속 기반 복합재료 개발을 통해 신경외과 치료 기술의 물리적 내구성 향상에도 기여하고 있습니다.

Radiosurgery is a viable treatment modality for patients with small deep parenchymal brain stem AVMs. A standard radiosurgical dose is safe and effective when directed to a small treatment volume. However, latent interval haemorrhage remains a significant problem until the nidus is obliterated completely.

The authors report two patients with a rare complication of parent artery narrowing that occurred 3 and 6 months after aneurysm surgery.
