Artificial intelligence, which has been applied as an innovative technology in multiple fields of healthcare, analyzes large amounts of data to assist in disease prediction, prevention, and diagnosis, as well as in patient monitoring. In obstetrics, artificial intelligence has been actively applied and integrated into our daily medical practice. This review provides an overview of artificial intelligence systems currently used for obstetric diagnostic purposes, such as fetal cardiotocography, ul
This study aimed to examine the impact of term LBW on short-term neonatal and long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes in children 5-7 years of age. This is a population-based cohort study that merged national data from the Korea National Health Insurance claims and National Health Screening Program for Infants and Children. The participants were women who gave birth at a gestational age of ≥ 37 weeks between 2013 and 2015 in the Republic of Korea, and were tracked during 2020 for the neurodevelopm
Hyperemesis gravidarum is known to be associated with poor perinatal outcomes. This study aimed to identify pre-pregnancy risk factors for hospital admission in women with hyperemesis gravidarum. We enrolled women who had delivered between 1 January 2013 and 31 December 2015, and had undergone a national health screening examination through the National Health Insurance Corporation 1-2 years before their first delivery. Multiple logistic regression analysis was performed to estimate the risk fac
This paper helps to set the scene for this special issue on automotive restructuring and policy responses. It starts by providing a brief introduction to the different inventory and supply-chain management approaches dominant within the industry at different stages of its evolution, before moving on to outline the spatial implications of these different approaches. The paper then presents a transactions–costs conceptual framework for analysing key features of the auto manufacturing and supply-ch
The purpose of this prospective study was to investigate the changes in the circulating levels of cathepsin B and D in pregnancy. We obtained longitudinal cathepsin B and D levels in 76 healthy pregnant women in the first and third trimesters and compared these levels with 20 non-pregnant controls. The plasma levels of soluble cathepsin B and D were measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit. The cathepsin D concentrations in the third trimester were significantly higher than that i
To study physiological roles of plant small GTP binding proteins, we isolated a cDNA clone (ORrab2) encoding the rab-related small GTP binding protein from rice (Oryza sativa L. IR-36) by using human cDNA rab2 as a probe. The deduced amino acid sequence of the ORrab2 gene shared all the conserved regions, important for GTPase/GTP binding activities, with those of other small GTP binding proteins. ORrab2 is a 1028 bp long cDNA, encodes a 23.2 kDa protein which shows 85.2% similarity on the amino
Increasing numbers of free trade and economic partnership agreements have been concluded among many countries in East Asia, and economic integration has progressed rapidly on both a de facto and de jure basis. However, as the authors of this book argue, integration may intensify regional inequalities in East Asia and so this process has attracted much attention of late. Will it actually succeed in achieving greater economic growth or will it in fact cause growing regional disparity?

Higher prepregnancy glucose in normal range is associated with gestational diabetes and macrosomia.
This study analyzes and evaluates the territorial dispute between UK and France surrounding the islands of Minquiers and Ecrehos. This case has the characteristic of being very similar to the Dokdo issue that Korea is currently facing. Referring to the judgment of the International Court of Justice(ICJ), the dispute between the two countries arose from the conflict between title by effective possession and original title. The ICJ ruled in favor of the former and made a final ruling that sovereig
