Hye-Ryun Kang 교수의 연구실은 폐 섬유화 및 만성 폐질환의 발달 기전을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 TGF-β1이 유도하는 섬유화, 세포 사멸, 그리고 조직 재구성 과정에서 핵심적으로 작용하는 분자인 SEMA 7A와 Bax를 포함한 사멸 신호전달 경로의 기능을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 또한 약물 유발 알레르기 반응, 특히 조영제 및 세팔로스포린에 의한 쇼크 반응의 기전과 위험 요인에 대해서도 꾸준히 연구하고 있습니다. 환경 흡연 노출이 어린이의 호흡기 질환에 미치는 영향에 대해서도 예방적 접근을 모색하고 있습니다.

Fibrosis, apoptosis, and the exaggerated production of transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta(1) are juxtaposed in a variety of pulmonary diseases including the interstitial lung diseases and asthma. Semaphorin (SEMA) 7A regulates neuronal and immune function. In these studies, we tested the hypothesis that SEMA 7A is also a critical regulator of tissue remodeling. These studies demonstrate that SEMA 7A and its receptors, plexin C1 and beta1 integrins, are stimulated by transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta(1) in the murine lung. They also demonstrate that SEMA 7A plays a critical role in TGF-beta(1)-induced fibrosis, myofibroblast hyperplasia, alveolar remodeling, and apoptosis. TGF-beta(1)
Overall, our data suggest that SJS, and TEN are infrequent but constantly arise throughout the years.
RCM induced anaphylactic shock is related to multiple exposures to RCM and most patients showed skin test positivity to RCM.
The prevalence of respiratory symptoms increased in children exposed to parental smoking including SHS and THS. To avoid the risk of respiratory and allergic disease by environmental tobacco smoke, absolute smoking cessation by parents is strongly recommended.

Platinum compounds are the most commonly reported causative agents of in-hospital drug-induced anaphylaxis. Older age ≥70 years and drugs such as iodinated contrast media and aminosteroid NMBA are related with high risk of anaphylactic shock.
