안효진 교수의 연구실은 환경 DNA(eDNA)를 활용한 생물다양성 모니터링을 핵심으로 하며, 주로 한국의 강과 하구, 해양 환경에서 어류 및 미세생물의 분포와 생태를 연구하고 있습니다. 특히, 도시화 영향을 받는 하구와 자연 그대로의 강에서의 생물 다양성 비교, 그리고 해양 깊은 곳에서의 eDNA 수거 기술 개선에도 주력하고 있습니다. 연구는 생태계 건강 평가와 보존 정책 수립에 기여할 수 있도록 실질적인 환경 모니터링 기법을 개발하는 데 목적이 있습니다.

The diverse freshwater fish fauna of the Japanese archipelago is distributed among four main island landmasses, which include Hokkaido in the north, with many diadromous species.
