The authors report a room temperature operating InAs quantum-dot infrared photodetector grown on InP substrate. The self-assembled InAs quantum dots and the device structure were grown by low-pressure metal-organic chemical vapor deposition. The detectivity was 2.8×1011cmHz1∕2∕W at 120K and a bias of −5V with a peak detection wavelength around 4.1μm and a quantum efficiency of 35%. Due to the low dark current and high responsivity, a clear photoresponse has been observed at room temperature, whi
We present data and calculations and examine the factors that determine the detectivities in self-assembled InAs and InGaAs based quantum dot infrared photodetectors (QDIPs). We investigate a class of devices that combine good wavelength selectivity with ``high detectivity.'' We study the factors that limit the temperature performance of quantum dot detectors. For this we develop a formalism to evaluate the optical absorption and the electron transport properties. We examine the performance limi
Alveolar ridge preservation without primary flap closure in molar areas was effective in minimizing ridge resorption and facilitated implant treatment.
The width of KM around dental implants correlated to a negligible extent with parameters for peri-implant diseases. No threshold value for the width of KM to maintain peri-implant health could be identified.
The high photoconductive gain observed in semiconductor quantum dot infrared detectors (QDIPs) constitutes one of the most exciting recent topics in nanotechnology. In this paper we present a theory of diffusion and recombination in QDIPs which is an attempt to explain the recently reported values of gain in these devices. We allow the kinetics to encompass both the diffusion and capture rate limited regimes of carrier relaxation using rigorous random walk and diffusion methods. The photoconduct
Maxillary sinus pneumatization was 1.56±3.93 mm on average. The extraction of a second molar led to the greatest extent of pneumatization, which should be considered in the treatment plan for this tooth site.
The volume stability and osteoconductive capacity of BCP with an HA: β-TCP ratio of 30:70 was comparable to that with an HA: β-TCP ratio of 70:30. Thus, within the limitations of this study, it can be argued that BCP with an HA: β-TCP ratio of 30:70 can be successfully used for sinus augmentation.
Gingival enlargement can be caused by underlying systemic diseases. Accurate diagnosis and timely referral are important for preventing a fatal situation. It must be emphasized that some oral signs and symptoms may be closely correlated with systemic diseases.
The horizontal ridge alteration in ridge preservation did not differ significantly between using the test the control groups, but the vertical ridge alteration was more pronounced when using the test group (KCT0001709).
The perforation of the schneiderian membrane and the repair using a collagen membrane delayed new bone formation in the augmented sinuses. However, the extension of the collagen membrane on the sinus bone walls was also attributable to this delayed bone formation.
Both implant placement protocols led to comparable outcomes in soft tissue levels, periodontal parameters, and patient's discomfort level.
The aim of the present study was to re-visit the gingival dimension using digital scanning in a healthy Korean population. Forty-eight periodontally healthy volunteers (38 males and 10 females, mean age: 24.3 ± 2.2 years) were included. The mucogingival junction was highlighted using 2.5% diluted iodine solution. Then, the facial gingiva and mucosa of both jaws were digitally scanned using an intraoral digital scanner. Using computer software and periodontal probing, the heights and areas of ker
Calcium phosphate glass (CPG) is well-documented alloplastic bone graft material. The objective of this study was to evaluate the osteoconductive effect of newly developed calcium phosphate glass cement (CPGC) in rabbit calvarial defects. Three circular defects (8 mm diameter) were created on the rabbit calvarium. One defect was filled with biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP group) and one defect was filled with CPGC (CPGC group). The remaining defect was not filled as the control. Histologic and h
SMT was not influenced by the factors included in this study, and it might not be a risk factor for SA and implant failure.
