Hyung Jin Choi 교수의 연구실은 당뇨병과obesity의 신경생물학적 기전을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 글루카곤-유사성 펩타이드-1(GRP-1) 및 GIP 수용체가 뇌에서 식이 조절과 체중 조절에 미치는 영향을 중심으로 신경회로 수준에서의 작용 메커니즘을 연구하고 있습니다. 또한 골형성 호르몬인 비카복실화된 옥시칼시움이 인슐린 감수성과 대사 상태에 미치는 영향, 그리고 대사질환과 관련된 대사물질 프로파일링을 통해 질병의 진행 메커니즘을 밝히는 데에도 기여하고 있습니다.

The aforementioned four common polymorphisms in the ghrelin gene were not found to be significantly associated with susceptibility to type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Korean population. However, the common polymorphism g.-1062G > C in the promoter region of the ghrelin gene was found to be significantly associated with serum HDL cholesterol levels.

Our study suggested that GGPS1 -8188A ins/del polymorphism may confer susceptibility to femoral neck BMD response to bisphosphonate therapy in Korean women. However, further study should be done to confirm the results in a larger population.
