Jae-Jin Kim 교수의 연구실은 뇌의 구조적 및 기능적 이상이 정신질환의 발병 메커니즘과 관련이 있음을 밝히는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 주로 조현병, 강박장애, 혼란증 등에서 관찰되는 전두엽-편측 회로, 소뇌, 시상 등 핵심 뇌 영역의 기능적 결합 이상과 신경망의 전반적 조직 이상을 영상유도 신경과학 기법(예: fMRI, rCBF)을 통해 규명하고 있습니다. 특히 인지 기능 저하의 신경기반을 '인지 불일치(cognitive dysmetria)'나 '기능적 분리' 등의 개념으로 재해석하며, 정신질환의 뇌 기반 병태생리학을 심층적으로 탐구하고 있습니다.
