Jae-Kwang Shim 교수의 연구실은 척추외과 수술 환자를 대상으로 한 통증 관리와 약물 치료 최적화에 중점을 두고 있습니다. 특히 페오테인 기반 진통제 사용 시 악성구토를 줄이기 위한 항결장제 선택, 그리고 프리카바린을 이용한 옹포이드 감소 전략 등 고도화된 통증 관리 전략을 개발하고 있습니다. 고령 환자에서의 뇌산소포화도(rSO2) 변화와 혼란의 연관성에 대한 연구를 통해 수술 후 합병증 예방에도 기여하고 있습니다.

Perioperative administration of pregabalin 150 mg before and 12 hours after surgery, but not 75 mg, significantly reduced opioid consumption and the use of additional pain rescue for 48 hours after surgery without significant side effects in patients undergoing spinal fusion surgery.
The degree and duration of decrease of the perioperative rSO2 measurements were not associated with delirium in elderly patients after spinal surgery.
