Alloreactive memory T cells may be refractory to many of the tolerance-inducing strategies that are effective against naive T cells and thus present a significant barrier to long-term allograft survival. Because CD4(+)CD25(+) regulatory T cells (Tregs) are critical elements of many approaches to successful induction/maintenance of transplantation tolerance, we used MHC class I and II alloreactive TCR-transgenic models to explore the ability of antigen-specific Tregs to control antigen-specific m
As mobile computing technologies have been more powerful and inclusive in people’s daily life, the issue of mobile assisted language learning (MALL) has also been widely explored in CALL research. Many researches on MALL consider the emerging mobile technologies have considerable potentials for the effective language learning. This review study focuses on the investigation of newly emerging mobile technologies and their pedagogical applications for language teachers and learners. Recent research
Many map matching algorithms have been developed to match GPS points to a digital map in previous studies. But the previous studies assume short polling time intervals(about 1 second) of the GPS data. And the map matching algorithms of such studies are not appropriate for the GPS data with relatively long polling time intervals(about 2~5 minutes). In this paper, we will review the previous map matching algorithms and discuss the map matching algorithms which can be used under circumstances of re
KOTRY, as a systematic Korean transplant cohort, is expected to provide important information on Asian organ transplantation. The processes used to establish KOTRY provide a good model for launching new nationwide transplant cohort studies.
These findings suggest the importance of TLR4 in the pathogenesis of acute rejection in kidney transplantation.
KDRI has greater predictive value for short-term outcomes in DDKT with short CIT than the SCD/ECD designation or pathology.
In Brief Background Macrophages play important roles in xenograft rejection. Here, we investigated whether overexpression of human CD200 or CD47 in porcine endothelial cells (PEC) can suppress macrophages activation in xenogeneic immune responses. Methods PECs and human macrophages were incubated together, harvested, and analyzed for in vitro macrophage phagocytic and cytotoxicity activity, and cytokine release. Next, PECs were injected into renal subcapsular space of humanized mice. On day 10 p
Liver resection is a good first-line therapy in patients that have severe symptoms, cyst involvement in several segments with some spared segments and preserved liver function. Liver transplantation is a preferred first-line therapy in patients with poor liver function or whole-liver involvement. Liver transplantation is also a good rescue therapy following TAE or liver resection.
The KNOW-KT, the first large-scale cohort study in Asian KT patients, is expected to represent the Asian KT population and provide information on their natural course, complications, and risk factors for complications.
Abstract Aim Chronic antibody‐mediated rejection ( CAMR ) in renal transplant patients has poor allograft outcomes. However, treatment strategy has not been established yet. Herein, we present short‐term outcomes of combination therapy for CAMR . Methods We identified nine patients with CAMR or suspicious CAMR who were treated with antihumoral therapy from 2010 to 2011 and analyzed their medical records retrospectively. Results Five patients had CAMR , and four patients had suspicious CAMR . Sev
