Abstract This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on pregnant women. We searched for qualified studies in PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science. The clinical characteristics of pregnant women with COVID-19 and their infants were reported as means and proportions with 95% confidence interval. Eleven studies involving with 9032 pregnant women with COVID-19 and 338 infants were included in the meta-analysis. Pregnant women with COVID-19 have relatively mild sym
By combining the inconsistent findings of several studies, this study revealed the associations between short-term exposure of air pollutants and pneumonia-specific hospital admission or ER visit, especially for PM and NO2. Based on the results, stricter intervention policies regarding air pollution and programs for protecting human respiratory health should be implemented.
N-acetyltransferase 2 (NAT2) acetylator status can be classified into three groups depending on the number of rapid alleles (e.g., NAT2*4): rapid, intermediate, and slow acetylators. Such acetylator status may influence the occurrence of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) during sulfasalazine treatment. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the association between NAT2 acetylator status and ADRs of sulfasalazine. We searched for qualified studies in PubMed, Web of Science, Embase
Vancomycin-associated acute kidney injury (AKI) remains a major challenge for patients and clinicians. This study aimed to construct a risk scoring system for vancomycin-associated AKI. We retrospectively reviewed medical records of patients who underwent therapeutic drug monitoring for vancomycin from June 2018 to July 2019. We selected possible risk factors for AKI by univariate and multivariable logistic regression analyses and developed a scoring system for vancomycin-associated AKI. Machine
<b>Purpose:</b> Cytochrome P450 (CYP) is involved in the metabolism of statins; CYP3A5 is the main enzyme responsible for lipophilic statin metabolism. However, the evidence of the association between <i>CYP3A5*3</i> polymorphism and the risk of statin-induced adverse events remains unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the relationship between the <i>CYP3A5*3</i> polymorphism and the risk of statin-induced adverse events. <b>Methods
Our study suggests that PPI use is associated with an increased risk of SNHL or tinnitus. Given the widespread use of PPIs, the potential ototoxic effects of PPIs remain an important concern.

The clinical characteristics of pregnant women with COVID-19 and their infants were reported as means and proportions with 95% confidence interval (CI). Nine studies involving with 93 pregnant women with COVID-19 and 103 infants were included in the meta-analysis. Pregnant women with COVID-19 have relatively mild sy
