정경규 교수의 연구실은 오염된 토양과 수질의 환경 복원을 핵심 목표로 하며, 주로 중금속 및 유해 물질의 안정화, 흡착 제거, 식물 기반 복원 기술(식물정화)에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 스폰지 커피 grounds, 생분해성 재료, 바이오차 등 친환경 재료를 활용한 오염물질 제거 기술 개발과 함께, 토양 pH, 환경 조건이 오염물질의 이동성과 방출에 미치는 영향을 체계적으로 분석하고 있습니다. 또한, 복원 후 지속 가능한 관리 전략 수립을 위한 환경 모니터링 및 생물학적 평가 기법도 함께 개발하고 있습니다.

This study was carried out to assess heavy metal pollution at 16 abandoned mining areas and to get basic data for phytoremediation. In South Korea, most metal mines were abandoned and caused contamination for more than 30 years.
