We intraindividually compared the efficacy of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with extracellular contrast agents (ECA-MRI) and MRI with hepatobiliary agents (HBA-MRI) for the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using the Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS). Between November 2016 and November 2017, we enrolled 91 patients with chronic liver disease who underwent both ECA-MRI and HBA-MRI within a 1-month interval for a first detected hepatic nodule on ultrasound. In total, 1
Background Accurate identification of microvascular invasion (MVI) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) before treatment is critical for selecting a proper treatment strategy. Purpose To evaluate the interobserver agreement and the diagnostic performance of the MRI assessment of MVI in HCC according to the level of radiologist experience. Materials and Methods This retrospective study included 100 patients with surgically confirmed HCCs smaller than 5 cm who underwent gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI be
Purpose To identify whether arterial enhancement pattern at MRI could predict the prognosis after surgical resection of intrahepatic mass-forming cholangiocarcinoma (IMCC). Materials and Methods Patients who underwent curative hepatic resection and preoperative MRI for IMCC from November 2007 to September 2016 were retrospectively evaluated. MRI enhancement pattern was classified by two radiologists. Recurrence and death data were retrieved until September 31, 2017. Prognostic factor analysis wa
Fusion imaging with CEUS and CT/MR imaging is highly effective for percutaneous RFA of very-early-stage HCCs inconspicuous on fusion imaging with B-mode US and CT/MR imaging.
More severe and extensive atrophy in the lumbar MF muscle was associated with radiculopathy. Thus, we might consider the presence of radiculopathy when severe and extensive multi-level involvement of MF atrophy is seen in MRI.
Renal BOLD MRI at 3 T is a feasible technique and may be useful for differentiating various renal lesions.
RFA combined with TACE under dual guidance of biplane fluoroscopy and US is technically feasible and effective for intermediate-sized HCC treatment.
There is no consensus regarding the ideal imaging modality or follow-up interval after resection of HCC. Non-contrast MRI had comparable performance to that of gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI in the detection of HCC recurrence during surveillance ≥1 year after surgery.
