To consider potentially new hypoglycemic and antihyperlipidemic sources, aqueous extracts from four Korean medicinal plants, Chrysanthemum coronarium, Dioscorea batatas, Morus alba, Citrus unshiu, were investigated in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. To induce diabetes, 36 rats were administered alloxan orally (120 mg/kg body weight) for 2 weeks and among those 6 rats were used as a diabetic control. Effect of extracts from four medicinal plants on blood glucose levels of diabetic rats was determi
STT-MRAM has emerged as a compelling candidate for universal memory, but demands an advanced sensing circuit to achieve the proper sensing margin. In addition, STT-MRAM requires low-current sensing to avoid read disturbance. We report a novel sensing circuit that utilizes a source degeneration scheme and a balanced reference scheme. Monte Carlo HSPICE simulation results using 65 nm technology model parameters show that the proposed sensing circuit achieves an read access yield of 96.3% with a se
As process technology scales down, sensing becomes difficult during read operations because the supply voltage, i.e., VDD, decreases and the process variation increases. Thus, a high enough sensing yield cannot be obtained with a conventional sensing circuit in deep submicron process technology. In this brief, a split-path sensing circuit is proposed to achieve a large enough sensing margin by using a variable reference voltage. The proposed sensing circuit is verified using Monte Carlo HSPICE s
This study addresses a variant of job-shop scheduling in which jobs are grouped into job families, but they are processed individually. The problem can be found in various industrial systems, especially in reprocessing shops of remanufacturing systems. If the reprocessing shop is a job-shop type and has the component-matching requirements, it can be regarded as a job shop with job families since the components of a product constitute a job family. In particular, sequence-dependent set-ups in whi
Conventional spin transfer torque MRAM sensing circuits suffer from a small sensing margin and a large sensing margin variation in deep submicron technologies. The small sensing margin issue becomes worse in the low-leakage process technology due to the higher threshold voltage. In this brief, the self-body biasing (self-BB) scheme is proposed to resolve the small sensing margin issue. In the self-BB scheme, the threshold voltage of load pMOS is adaptively controlled by body bias. Although leaka
We demonstrate stable, free-space optical trapping and manipulation in an integrated microfluidic chip using counter-propagating beams. An inverted ridge-type waveguide made of SU8 is cut across by an open trench. The design of the waveguide provides low propagation losses and small divergence of the trapping beam upon emergence from the facet, and the trench designed to be deeper and wider than the optical mode enables full utilization of the optical power with an automatic alignment for counte
SIRI can predict the survival of patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma after resection and neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Preoperative SIRI value was correlated with disease-free survival, while changes in SIRI values were correlated with overall survival.
