Ji-Bum Chung 교수의 연구실은 국민의 안전과 행복을 고려한 복잡한 사회적 위험 문제를 중심으로 연구를 전개합니다. 핵발전소, 방사성 폐기물 처분장, 지열발전소 등 에너지 및 재난 위험에 대한 공공의 인식과 수용성, 위기 커뮤니케이션 전략을 심층적으로 분석합니다. 특히 위기 상황에서의 정보 전파, 미디어의 역할, 주민의 감정적·인지적 반응, 정치적 과정이 위험 수용에 미치는 영향을 다각도로 연구합니다. 최근에는 행복의 개념과 사회적 가치관의 형성에도 관심을 기울이며, 인간의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 정책적 통찰을 도출하고자 합니다.
