이 교수의 연구실은 건축 환경의 실내환경 품질(IEQ) 향상과 지속가능성 중심의 설계를 핵심으로 하며, 실내 공기질, 조명, 음향, 열적 쾌적함 등 실내 환경 요소와 사용자 만족도 간의 상관관계를 다룹니다. 특히 포스트-오너십 평가(POE)와 건물 시스템 기술적 특성(TABS)을 융합한 분석 기법을 통해 실증적이고 종합적인 설계 평가 모델을 개발하고 있습니다. 녹색건축 인증제도(예: EDGE)와 생물다양성 설계(Biophilic Design)의 실천적 효과 또한 연구 대상에 포함하고 있습니다.
