이 교수의 연구실은 전기화학적 에너지 저장 소재의 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 특히 칼륨 이온 배터리와 고체 전해질 기반의 이온 전환 장치에서의 고성능 전극 재료의 설계와 기반 메커니즘 규명을 주요 연구 방향으로 삼고 있습니다. 나노구조의 질화물 및 도핑된 탄소 기반 복합재료를 활용해 이온의 고속 주입·탈주를 가능하게 하고, 반응 메커니즘의 표면 제어성을 극대화함으로써 수명과 출력 성능을 향상시키는 데 기여하고 있습니다. 또한, 고주파 유도 열처리 기술을 응용한 표면 강화 기술을 통해 기계적 내구성까지 통합 고려한 소재 설계도 진행 중입니다.
