Implantation of an embryo occurs during the mid-secretory phase of the menstrual cycle, known as the "implantation window." During this implantation period, there are significant morphologic and functional changes in the endometrium, which is followed by decidualization. Many immune cells, such as dendritic and natural killer (NK) cells, increase in number in this period and early pregnancy. Recent works have revealed that antigen-presenting cells (APCs) and NK cells are involved in vascular rem
Abstract This research is motivated by the need for 3D GIS data models that allow for 3D spatial query, analysis and visualization of the subunits and internal network structure of 'micro‐spatial environments' (the 3D spatial structure within buildings). It explores a new way of representing the topological relationships among 3D geographical features such as buildings and their internal partitions or subunits. The 3D topological data model is called the combinatorial data model (CDM). It is a l
Abstract Since the 11 September 2001 attacks in the United States and the 7 July 2005 London bombings, geospatial researchers have attempted to utilize GIScience technologies in response to disasters occurring in the microspace of multilevel structures (such as the interior of buildings) in urban areas. Such applications require 3D geographic information systems (GIS) functionalities to represent the three-dimensional structures of urban environments and to conduct 3D GIS-based spatial analyses.
This is the first proteomic study in MDD patients to compare intra-individual differences dependent on mood. This technique could be a useful approach to identify MDD biomarkers, but requires additional proteomic studies for validation.
Interest in the nutritional value and pharmacological activities of blue-green algae has gradually increased. Spirulina extracts show protective effects against apoptosis and inflammatory damage in various cell types. Here, we investigated the protective effects of extracts from Spirulina maxima in a cytokine-mediated type 1 diabetes model in vitro and in streptozotocin-induced diabetic Wistar rats in vivo. Interleukin-1β and interferon-gamma induced substantial cytotoxicity to RIN
Various high-speed techniques including internal peaking, differentially stacked inductor, and dual-loop PLL for wireline communications are proposed, analyzed, and verified by means of three independent circuits. A multiplexer incorporates multiple peaking techniques and gate control switching to achieve an operation speed of 20 Gb/s while consuming 22 mW from a 1.8-V supply. A voltage-controlled oscillator employing differentially stacked inductor accomplishes a phase noise of -90dBc/Hzat 1-MHz
Address matching is a crucial step in geocoding; however, this step forms a bottleneck for geocoding accuracy, as precise input is the biggest challenge for establishing perfect matches. Matches still have to be established despite the inevitability of incorrect address inputs such as misspellings, abbreviations, informal and non-standard names, slangs, or coded terms. Thus, this study suggests an address geocoding system using machine learning to enhance the address matching implemented on stre
