An optoelectronic synapse having a multispectral color-discriminating ability is an essential prerequisite to emulate the human retina for realizing a neuromorphic visual system. Several studies based on the three-terminal transistor architecture have shown its feasibility; however, its implementation with a two-terminal memristor architecture, advantageous to achieving high integration density as a simple crossbar array for an ultra-high-resolution vision chip, remains a challenge. Furthermore,
Most default mode network (DMN) studies in patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD) are based on the comparison of only two groups, namely patients and controls. Information derived from comparing three groups, normal, aMCI and AD, simultaneously may lead us to better understand the progression of dementia. The purpose of this study was to evaluate functional connectivity of DMN in the continuum from normal through aMCI to AD. Differences in functional
The data suggest that the motor cerebellar functional connectivity with the posterior cortical areas play an important role in future development of freezing of gait in PD. © 2020 International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.
Although whole-brain radiation therapy (WBRT) is the mainstay of treatment for brain metastases (BMs), the concept of saving eloquent cortical lesions has been promoted. If BMs from lung cancer are spatially biased to certain regions, this approach can be justified more. We evaluated whether BMs from lung cancer show a preference for certain brain regions and if their distribution pattern differs according to the histologic subtype of the primary lung cancer. In this retrospective study, 562 BMs
Concomitant ADCI and LBCI are associated with the accentuation of LBCI-related WM network disruption centered in the left caudate nucleus. The increase of occipital betweenness centrality could be a characteristic biologic change associated with visuospatial dysfunction in LBCI.
Structural connectivity between and from the frontal lobes is closely associated with self-awareness of cognitive deficits in PD. Evaluating frontal structural connectivity from the early stages of PD will be important in assessing the actual cognitive and daily life performance of patients with PD.
Age at onset is one of the most important factors that affects the clinical course in Alzheimer disease (AD), whereas other factors such as apolipoprotein E (apoE) genotype may also play a major role. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of age at onset and apoE genotype on white-matter changes in AD using diffusion tensor imaging. About 213 patients with AD and 66 normal individuals underwent diffusion tensor imaging, and apoE genotype was obtained in all AD patients and in 24 norm
