Jun Miyata 교수의 연구실은 호흡기 및 알레르기 질환에서 면역세포, 특히 호酸성구세포의 대사 변화와 지방산 대사 이상이 어떻게 염증 반응을 조절하는지에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 DHA, EPA와 같은 오메가-3 지방산의 항염증 작용과 12/15-리포산옥시게나제(12/15-LOX)를 통한 지질 매개자 생성의 기전을 규명하며, 심한 천식, 만성 부비동염 등 호酸성구세포성 염증질환의 새로운 치료 타겟을 모색하고 있습니다. 최근에는 장기적인 피로와 연관된 '롱코비드' 환자에서 천식의 역할을 조사하는 임상적 연구도 진행 중입니다.
